Making Money Online - What Led Me to Build a BANS Store

Making Money Online; that is the Holy Grail for every internet marketer and one which remains elusive to the large majority of people entering the highly competitive field of selling over the Internet.

It was nearly six months ago that I made the decision to take a year off from work (I was a high school mathematics teacher) and throw my hat into the ring of internet marketing. I was brutally honest with myself when it came to evaluating my strengths and weaknesses and this analysis was the first step in the process of deciding on a path to follow.

I have strong computer skills, as I have taught several computer programming courses (a real plus) but I had never actually sold anything and was unclear on how to go about it (a decided minus).

From the beginning, I was very suspicious of all the “gurus” who claimed that wild riches were just around the corner if only I would buy their product. Too many of them claimed that the process could be put on autopilot and all one had to do was to sit back and count the money as it came rolling in.

Needless to say, I spent a good deal of money over the first two months trying “a little of this and a little of that” while making very little actual progress towards a solid financial future. However, I did learn an enormous amount and began to see what would and what would not work for me.

Perhaps the biggest thing that I learned was that there was not going to be an easy way to reaching my goal of financial freedom and that, like with anything else in life, if you want good results you are going to have to work hard. No problem there, but which road should I take to get there?

What I wanted was a down to earth method of selling a down to earth product. It became immediately clear to me that I had nothing of my own that I could sell and the whole “soup to nuts” process of selling (inventory, payment methods, returns, etc.) was something I wanted no part of. This pointed me in the direction of becoming an affiliate (selling someone else’s product) and my search began in earnest.

First of all, I needed a product line which was expansive and had a large inventory and, if possible, I wanted nothing to do with controlling that inventory. These factors pointed me straight to what is perhaps the worlds biggest marketplace; Ebay.

Ebay was the absolute perfect solution for me; it had a truly enormous inventory that could easily be broken up to sell to different niche markets. Also, I now had a dynamic inventory which was determined and managed by the auction process and, perhaps most importantly to me, the selling process from beginning to end was managed by the trusted Ebay selling machine.

What I needed was a way to tap into the Ebay auction feed and then set up some mechanism by which I could sell products to specific niche markets. I had already signed up to be an Ebay affiliate through the Ebay Partner Network and my search was on for the right tool through which I could sell my products.

This is where BANS (Build a Niche Store) came in. Not only did the BANS script (a computer program) supply the Ebay auction feed but it came with website building capabilities that were professional in nature, customizable in detail and extremely simple to use. I have been building niche stores with BANS for less than three months now and I can build a fully functional store in under thirty minutes. Of course, it will take much longer to apply all the bells and whistles, but you get the idea. I have never come across an easier way to “rinse and repeat” than that which is provided by BANS and my full attention is now being given to developing more and more of these niche stores.

So the big question is, have the results kept up with the promises? The answer is a resounding YES! Now this is most definitely not a “become a millionaire overnight” product, but I can say that I am on track to make $40,000 my first year and I expect to do much better as I build more and more BANS stores.

Now, of course, finding a method to build a website that will sell products that people want to buy is only one half of the puzzle. But, at least for me, I do not and will not look anywhere else. BANS is the answer; period.

The last part of the puzzle is even more difficult to find an answer for than the first and it is simply this: How do you get people to go to your store? In the near future, I will be writing an ebook which explains that process and this will be my first attempt to sell a product of my own.

Summing up, BANS is an extraordinary computer script that greatly simplifies the process of building a store with an enormous inventory that is also extremely easy to manage. Can Poor Customer Service Lead To The Fall Of a Business?

Absolutely.

Most all marketing specialists will tell you that “The average business spends six times more to attract new customers than it does to keep old ones.” That says a lot about the importance of putting the customer first.

It has become more and more common to see customer service lacking in both small and large businesses. The business either is growing faster than they can provide training to their employees, or the company is not established on the right qualities.

This has become such a problem that there are many experts and authors that try to offer paid or free advice and tips. There is an article by Jill Homer titled “Tips for Curing Bad Customer Service”.

Jill describes the typical scene where a customer steps into a store and wants to know where to find a certain product. In the example, the employee is busy and does not want to be bothered, and so gives the customer a short answer and continues whatever she is doing without even giving the customer eye contact.

The customer kindly persists, and so with obvious annoyance in the voice, the employee begrudgingly turns around and points the customer in the general direction of the product’s location. But instead of purchasing the product, the customer leaves the store, frustrated, vowing to never return again.

Jill goes on in her article to give some tips on how to train yourself and your employees to have a different way of thinking and acting that will put the customer first.

I can think of a lot of examples of where I was either personally given poor customer service or heard from a friend of mine about an example of poor customer service. I always check the internet reviews of any hotel before I stay there and if there are a lot of negative reviews, there is no way that I would stay there. But any business can shoot itself in the foot by providing poor customer service, especially in this day and age of the internet.

I will not point out more than a couple of examples, since I am sure we have all seen someone get burned at one time or another, but one example that I found online with a quick search online was of a customer who was cheated of their money through a company called Medtexx, where the company was unwilling to provide a refund when the customer did not like being swindled. But the company wanted to keep the money instead… which will probably lead to their eventual downfall. Apparently this person was not the only dissatisfied customer, according to the BBB reports for the past couple years. If your company or business were to be this far in the danger zone, then the best thing that you can do is to go back to those customers that you wronged and personally try to make amends and see how you can make it up to them to make them happy.

I purchased auto parts through one site on the internet where I would most definitely return, just because they bent over backwards to answer any of my questions and they even called me up to follow up with my order a month later.

One of the very most critical points of a successful business is good customer service. Utah State University showed recent findings in customer service. The average business only hears from about 4 percent of its dissatisfied customers. The other 96 percent quietly go away.

This is quite dangerous for any business because if a dissatisfied customer can not share their complaints with the business, then they will share them through other means such as friends, family and neighbors.

Statistics show that the average dissatisfied customer will tell 8 to 10 people about their problem. One in five of those will share that with 20 others. So you can see how repeated offenses of poor customer service can quickly snowball into the downfall of a business.

It does not matter if you are the owner of a large utility company, a popular soft drink company, an airline, a sports store, or of a start-up hot dog stand, customer service should be of your utmost concern. All too often, we see where an employee just decides to ignore a dissatisfied customer with the hope that it will just go away. The employee mistakenly thinks “oh well, what is the loss of one customer?” However, the problem is that poor customer service, just like good customer service, will be shared with all of their friends until the business fails or flourishes.

The Buzz About the Berry and the Company Behind it All

In the network marketing industry, Monavie is a relative newcomer but it has made a lot of splash that gave it the extra buzz it needed to gain attention. Is this a good business for you to join? Here is a short review of Monavie, the company and its product.

The Company

Monavie was founded in Utah by Dallin Larsen, a 17-year veteran in network marketing. Due to its founder’s past experience, Monavie was designed to operate as a network marketing company.

The Product

Among network marketing companies, Monavie is one unique entity, opting to sell only a single product. Its eponymous product is a health supplement in the form of a drink. The main ingredient of this supplement is the acai berry, a recognized source of antioxidants and other healthful nutrients such as B vitamins, calcium, potassium and iron. The healthful benefits of the fruit have been corroborated by a clinical research which showed that it contained more antioxidants than the placebo used in the study.

The product is made with juice extracts from acai berry.

The Business

Since Monavie the product is distributed mainly through network marketing, the compensation scheme is based on commissions made from sales of the drink, from which distributors will draw their main income. Commissions also get paid for recruiting new members as downlines. To join, a new distributor simply has to pay a $39 registration fee, which authorizes him or her to sell the drink.

The only drawback is the cost. A bottle of Monavie costs around $38. One bottle can cover health nutritional needs for about 7 days. Do the math and you’ll find that a customer will have to shell out over $150 a month just to fill a 30-day supply. If there are more family members in your household, then prepare to spend more than that amount. That can be a lot for some people.

In order to qualify for a commission, a distributor must be able to sell a minimum of four bottles monthly, which can cost around $130 to $150 dollars, excluding shipping charges.

For those who have the network and the customer base, however, Monavie seems like a solid business opportunity. Income is computed based on a binary compensation scheme, which also includes a 50% payout on the commissionable volume. That makes it possible for distributors to earn well even with just two recruits working under them.

The Monavie ‘Scam’

Monavie has come under attack recently, with some sectors calling the business a scam. The problem emerged when some distributors used the system of recruitment (which also happens to be a basis of the compensation system as well) and decided to abuse it. The reason is not really to sell the product but to recruit as many new members as possible and earn from the commissions that come out of those recruitments.

So the question is should you join?

Monavie is probably a business that’s best for people who have excellent sales capabilities. Those who have had network marketing experience before would also find this business quite lucrative, provided they have the capability to sell to a large market and recruit able downlines.

The main concern about Monavie is its competition. Without an able marketer, it would be difficult to sell this product amidst other outstanding health supplement lines currently available. In able hands, however, it can be a very promising business deal.
